In Larnaka Cyprus on September 23-24 & 25, 2011, the Balkan Karate Championship were hosted and several countries attended such as Hungary, Bosnia, Serbia, Rumania, Albania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Cyprus, Greece, Mavrovounio etc.
At the event around 600 athletes, coaches and referees participated, while among the competent had been the female athlete Stefania Anagnostatou from the "Yoshukan" dojo, who is a member of National Karate Team, accompanied by her coach George Pelekis.
It has been the first time the afore mentioned athlete participated in a similar event and having impressed the judges, coaches and co-competent with her presentation, she succeeded the 3rdplace in kata, and acquired one more medal for Greece from the Balkan Championship.
