Hellenic Male-Female Karate Championship – February 2022

After 20 years of abstention from the Karate field as an athlete, the representative of the World Shito-ryu Karate-do Federation for Greece George Pelekis, participated again without expectations except for the participation in the Hellenic Male-Female Karate Championship 2022, which took place on 05 & 06 February.

The category that took part included 44 young athletes (not veterans), champions with daily long hours of training aiming for the medal.

Eventually he managed to qualify for the next rounds and compete for the bronze medal which, although he failed to win, was an important qualification given the limited competition training, the long absence and his age.

But the most important thing for him was the congratulations and the respect he received from the participating athletes, from fellow instructors and the positive atmosphere that prevailed during the most important Karate championship in the country , as well as his qualification for participation in the future Balcan Karate Championship that will take place in Belgrade, as a member of National Karate Team!!!
