Technical Seminar with WSKF President Genzo Iwata in Athens – June 2022
Black Belt Technical Seminar and Dan Promotional Examinations were held on Monday, June 27, 2022 in Athens by the President of World Shito-ryu Karate-do Federation (Shitokai), Genzo Iwata, 8th Dan “Hanshi”, who was accompanied by the representative of Shitokai in Israel GidonSchwabe.
The seminar organized by the two representatives of World Federation in Greece, George Pelekis and Dimitris Zefkis was crowned with great success and was attended by teachers-coaches and members from Dojo affiliated with the aforementioned representatives.
Master Iwata was pleased with the level of participants as well as the warm welcome and hospitality he encountered. His teaching style was understandable, imparting great knowledge, while he himself was approachable and modest towards the attendees.
It is worth noting that at the beginning of the seminar, Iwata Sensei askedthe attendees to observe a minute’s silence in memory of Shitokai Masters, Konstantinos Kassis (President of Technical Committee of World Karate Federation & Teacher of George Pelekis) and Iwaki Hashimoto (Secretary of World Shito-ryuKarate-do Federation) who recently passed away.
