Training & Dan Exam with Soke Kenyu Mabuni at “Yoshukan” Greece – February 2023

On Friday, February 17, 2023, Soke Kenyu Mabuni, leader of the Shitoryu Karate-Do system worldwide, Governor of World Federation of the style and grandson of Kenwa Mabuni, founder of the style, who, in the context of conducting a technical seminar, was in Greece, held a promotional examination for 1st Dan to the athlete of “Yoshukan” dojo in Greece, Electra Peleki.

Specifically, the examination took place in the morning hours of Friday and after the technical level of the examinee in the art of Shitoryu was evaluated, she successfully achieved the rank of 1st Dan.
It is worth noting that it was the first time that Master Mabuni conducted exams in Greece.

In the afternoon of the same day, a group of members of “Yoshukan” had the opportunity to experience a personal training session with SokeKenyuMabuni.
For the participants meeting Soke Mabuni for the first time it was a new experience to train under his guidance in a friendly and pleasant atmosphere cultivating a closer interpersonal relationship, while for those who had met him previously in seminars or training in Japan, it was a great pleasure to meet him again and train with him.

One day before he left, specifically on Monday evening, the trainee members of the club enjoyed a different lesson with Master Mabuni. It was basically theoretical based on the history of the system and the teachers associated with it. Towards the end of the class and after asking the participants to have a memento of him, he used Japanese calligraphy as the means for writing a saying ora phrase that each one individually requested.
