Black Belt & Dan Examination in Athens – July 2022

As every year, this year also on Sunday, July 10, 2022, the Black Belt & Dan promotional examinations took place at the “Yoshukan” branch of Greece in Athens.

For the last 17 years, the exams were conducted by “Shihan” Con Kassis along with his personal student in Greece, George Pelekis. This year, for the first time and after the untimely death of Master Kassis, the exams were conducted by George Pelekis as a representative of Soke Mabuni and the World Shito-ryu Federation in the same way and observing the same high requirements both on a technical and theoretical level just like Master Kassis.

The examination schedule was as follows:
10:00 – 11:30 written exams.
11:30 – 16:30 practical exams in the technical part of Shito-ryu (Kihon, Kata, Bunkai (analysis), Self-defense, Kumite and fitness.
16:30 – 17:00 Theory.

The technical level of the participants was quite high as always and as the world-respected Master Konstantinos Kassis wished.

The goal of George Pelekis and of all the members of the club is to continue unaltered the desire of Master Kassis for the cultivation and dissemination of Shito-ryu in Greece, as it was taught for three decades by his teacher Kenei Mabuni with the same dedication, quality and the same values.
